Evening Wedding at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

A black and white photo of an interracial bride and groom kissing at the botanical garden in Atlanta

Before an elegant wedding ceremony at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, the bride and groom spent a quiet morning getting ready at their home in Atlanta.

The large-paned windows let in plenty of natural light, allowing our Atlanta wedding photographers to capture stunning candid photos as the groom’s best man helped him fasten his tie, while the maid of honor was helping the bride with her make up, in the other room. Shortly after, the soon-to-be newlyweds stepped out onto the patio to share one last private champagne toast before heading to their botanical garden wedding venue.

Once there, the bride’s attendants buttoned her into an intricately beaded wedding gown with a long, scalloped train. She met her groom outdoors for an intimate first look photo session with our wedding photographers. The couple posed around the special installations for the venue’s Garden Lights, Holiday Nights exhibition, laughing and kissing in front of several Alice in Wonderland-themed “plant giants,” a “Kiss Me!” polaroid frame, and the “Orchestral Orbs” installation on the botanical garden’s front lawn.

Then it was time for the wedding ceremony, with the cellist Jenn Cornell providing a romantic soundtrack to the proceedings. The mother of the groom pinned a white-rose boutonniere to her son’s jacket before he took his place at the end of the aisle, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. His bride strode to meet him on her father’s arm, carrying a sophisticated bouquet of white roses, baby’s breath, and greenery. With love in their eyes, the bride and groom exchanged their vows in the company of an intimate group of family and friends, positioned in front of bright fall foliage and a reflective pool lined with candles. A timid ringbearer handed the couple the wedding rings, and after they slid the bands onto each other’s fingers, they fell into their first kiss as husband and wife. The delighted couple made their way back up the aisle under a canopy of floating streamers released by their cheering guests.

Following the wedding ceremony, guests gathered for a champagne toast, the kids joining in with juice boxes. Then everyone posed for playful photos with our Atlanta wedding photographers. Just after sunset, the newlyweds slipped away for a few more final photos beneath a canopy of twinkling lights, a perfect end to their Atlanta Botanical Gardens wedding.
